Eastwood Collieries' MVC

Our musical event for 2010.

-

At Ravenshead Village Hall 27 November 2010

-

After a jazz band, a brass band and a swing band we changed direction this year and we treated to the uplifting sounds of a traditional male voice choir.

The choir was the acclaimed Eastwood Collieries' Male Voice Choir and they were joined by a talented young flautist James Wilson.

The weather, unfortunately, did not help, it snowed heavily and a number people could not get through. Sadly we had to cancel the village bus that would have brought some people to the show. Fortunately the choir did make it and our grateful thanks go to all of them, not just for 'braving the elements' but for creating such a wonderful evening.

The tables were set and and we were treated to a glorious evening of traditional and modern songs and two flute solos.

Sorry to say there are only a couple of pictures (we were too busy enjoying the music) but a video of 'Do You Hear The People Sing' from Les Miserables and a rousing rendition of Jerusalem - this has become our 'signature' music at these events.
